This type of communication also comes with a lot of barriers that include non-verbal communication, medical terminology, language, the context, language and the advice provided. On my business visit to a client to strike a deal, I faced the problem of inaccuracy in the language being spoken by my client. Its important to have clarity in words in the business world so as to remove any sort of discrepancies later on. I learnt that my client had been facing an articulation disorder since his childhood. Articulation disorder (also called phonetic disorder) is based on the difficulty in learning how to physically produce the intended phonemes. Articulation disorder compiled with phonemic disorder (also called phonological disorder) may coexist in a person. The client could not pronounce the words accurately and hence the meeting got prolonged. However with the help of a technology and the clients assistant, it became easy to catch what the client wished to communicate. Though the meeting got a bit late, but the technology helped us to understand each other and we could solve the problem and discuss what was important. In case the technology wasnt present that the clients assistant showed us, it would have been near impossible that my client could have gone forward with the project (Wiemann Harrison). Articulation and phonemic disorders need to be treated effectively in the earlier stages of childhood. However sometimes the disorders persists are for lifetime. Group Communication Group communication is when many different people sit in particular room to discuss something. A room full of people who were affected by different types of speech sound disorder was brought together. The age varied from 7 years to 30 years. The total number of people in the room was 10 who all suffered from two different kinds of disorder- Articulation disorder and Phonemic disorder. 5 people were facing Articulation disorder that is when has difficulty learning or to produce the intended word. The main articulators are lips, teeth, hard plate, and alveolar ridge. If any disorder is found in these articulators then that person is facing from Articulation disorder. 5 people were facing Phonemic disorder that is when a person is having problem to learn the sound system of the language. For example sounds P and L may not be recognized as different sounds. If one is facing such a problem then he has phonemic disorder. When everyone started talking in the room, it was chaos because no one could understand each other. To overcome these two disorders we placed a small mic inside the mouth of each candidate. Then we used an App which helped us overcome the problem of speech sound disorder. The difficulties that were facing were communicating with different people fluently. They felt shy while talking to other people because of low confidence. With the help of the mic and the app the problem was solved. They were now confident to speak whatever they wanted to and could speak fluently. The mic could be permanently fitted in the persons mouth. This helped them to overcome a childhood problem which didnt have a cure for a very long time. Everybody was communication with each other in the group with ease. People were very confident and the results were great. Everyone was talking their minds out and they seemed really happy as they felt they got their voices back. People wanted to keep that technology and found new ways to communicate with each other. This helped them solve the problem and the business went ahead successfully (Wiemann Harrison). Knapp Relationship model The relationship explains how all the existing relationships grow and then also how it ends. The category usually has 10 different stages and shows how the activity works. Knapp, M, J Daly,The Sage handbook of interpersonal communication. in , Thousand Oaks, Calif., SAGE Publications, 2011. Wiemann, J, R Harrison,Nonverbal interaction. in , Beverly Hills, Sage Publications, 1983. Wiemann, J, R Harrison,Nonverbal interaction. in , Beverly Hills, Sage Publications, 1983. The picture above explains in steps how relationships get built up and how they slowly get terminated. The model; basically helps us to understand how relationships progress and how it decorates. Coming together could be explained in 5 parts (Dillon): Initiation This is the first stage and its all about how to people interact and how one makes impression in front of other. The judging would be perfect as this is the first time. Experimentation This is the second stage where people interact and get to know each other. They explore each other and find out about them. This provides the with common interest or others likes and dislikes and how the person actually is. This is an important stage. Intensifying This stage is all about how the two people now interact. They are no longer just acquaintances and are less formal with each other. They act like good friends and the relationship starts to intensify. Integration In this stage, people usually start giving other too much importance, they may fall in love or become best friends in real life and their relationship is very close. Bonding This stage is all about how people tell others about their relationship, they are not worried or afraid and are proud to have that particular relationship. Termination theory could be explained as follows: Differentiating This is the first stage where people usually due to external pressure start behaving differently or may indulge in other activities. The everlasting bond that they had might get broken and things might start taking another turn. Circumscribing This is the next step where people usually dont interact as much as they used. They would set boundaries and limits and not communicate for too long. Stagnation This stage the relationship almost comes to an end. They dont stag in a bit of contact because of situations in the past or their bond they used to have. The interaction would be limited. Avoidance As the name suggests, in this step people usually avoid each other and dont have any physical contact with them. They would try and speak and less as possible. Terminating this is the last stage where the relationship usually comes to an end. The people engaged will chose another path and live their life differently as they wish to. It all changes. Conclusion By doing this project we learnt the different of disorders faced by people around the world. These disorders have caused problems is some way or the other. The speech sound disorder is a childhood disorder faced by many. In this project we showed how to overcome problem of speech and sound barrier by the use of new technology. The technology has advanced so much that now it come overcome mostly all the different types of disorders. World War I an Example by
World War I World War I an Example by World War I World War One was said to be a war that would end all future wars. However, with World War 2 following afterwards, obviously man was mistaken. In fact, many historians believe that the seeds for World War 3 have already been sown as well. With a spark anywhere in the Middle East, Chinese-Taiwan sea border or the Korean peninsula, World War 3 could be a very realistic possibility. World Wars are best defined as conflicts that span over 2 continents. Historians believe that a war can be classified as a World War if it meets the first requirement, and has the involvement of 20 or more countries. The use of alliances, conscription and massive resource allocation towards war are some of the other conditions needed. Need essay sample on "World War I" topic? We will write a custom essay sample specifically for you Proceed World War 1 was one such war. The war was fought mainly on the European, Asian, and African continents. The conflict that left 15 million people killed in the aftermath all began with a single spark; the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, on 28th June, 1914. With the Austro-Hungarian Empire deeply aggrieved by the circumstance, their leaders put difficult treaty conditions on the Serbian state. Though the Serbian State accepted most, rejecting some minor clauses, the Austro-Hungarian Empire attacked (Gilbert, 2004). With the tangle of diplomatic treaties already in place across Europe, nations who were least involved in the initial start became leaders of war campaigns. Nations dragged into the war included; Great Britain, USA, Italy, Germany, Russia, France, Japan, Austro-Hungary and Serbia. Though there were many causes identified which resulted in the First World War, the main were as follows: The formations of alliances: The system of secret alliances had long been established since the end of the Franco-Prussian War. Sides had been chosen, alliances formed and stockpiling of weapons was already underway even before the assassination of the Prince of Austro-Hungarian Empire took place. These alliances were the entanglements that resulted in the involvement of so many countries into war. Because the continent had been split so vividly across two sides, each having their own agreements related to defense, aggression and mutual co-operation, it was inevitable all of Europe would be at war because of two countries (Gilbert, 2004). Many countries tried avoiding the war by keeping a neutral stance but could not in the long term due to their alliance obligations. Colonization: During that era in time, nations were busy acquiring colonies. European countries were massively competing against each other in trying to acquire the most resources possible. Areas such as Africa and China often became a source of discontent when territorial boundaries could not be sustained or controlled (Gilbert, 2004). This was also a reason for the present hostilities during that time. Militarism: with the pressure on national economies to support larger armies and new technology related to war equipment, the armies of various nations were given more and more power. Because of this, civilian administration began to decline and more authority rested with military officers. Already trigger happy, these nations had developed national plans relating to security and mobilization issues well before the war had started, as if anticipating it in advance. To ensure their countrys dominance, espionage was often used to unfold other nations plans. This created great animosity amongst major military players in the region which unfolded in the battlefield of world war one (Gilbert, 2004). Nationalism: Politicians, military leadership and people alike started enforcing upon the public a sense of nationalism. This strong feeling generated a patriotic tune amongst the masses for their country stirring hatred amongst ethnic groups, countries and often their own minorities. War speeches touched upon these aspects and further brain washed the innocent public. More and more recruits poured in to protect the mother land and in doing so automatic conscription took place. (Gilbert, 2004) The war claimed an end to four great empires of the European continent; German, Austro-Hungarian, Russian and Ottoman. The Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian empires do not exist anymore and have been divided into several smaller states. The war created massive devastation across Europe and other continents. The war that lasted, from 1914-1918, realized a terrible end to many nations. Germany, Austria-Hungary, France lost 15.1%, 17.1% and 10.5% of their active male populations because of the war, respectively (Keegan, 2000). Germany was forced to claim responsibility for the war and made to sign the Treat of Versailles. At the same time, all her colonies were snatched and she was made to make enormous war reparations, along with territory, to the victors (Keegan, 2000). Russia lost many of its western territories while the Austro-Hungarian Empire was broken along ethnic lines. The Ottoman Empires territories were seized and awarded amongst victor nations In the end, out of the 70 million recruited soldiers that were mobilized in Europe, 15 million died (Gilbert, 2004). Civilian causalities have yet to be assessed accurately but are sure to match the figures above. References: Gilbert, M. (2004). The First World War, Second Edition: A Complete History. : Holt. Comparison of Total Physical Response Approach to Traditional Teaching Model Essays
Comparison of Total Physical Response Approach to Traditional Teaching Model Essays Comparison of Total Physical Response Approach to Traditional Teaching Model Essay Comparison of Total Physical Response Approach to Traditional Teaching Model Essay Carrie Collins Donnie Harris Rosemary Sullivan TESL 5230 ââ¬â SLA October 14, 2010 Case Study Outline Case Study Outline 1. Introduction Does TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE (TPR) enhance student learning and growth in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) when used with Middle School students of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) when teaching map skills? (Per Grade Level Expectation SS5 1. 4, 1. 5 a. Locate states of the United States) Purpose of Study In studying SLA we explored the benefits of various approaches that have been used over the years to teach a second language. For many years schools relied on a Traditional Approach when teaching almost every subject including a second language. By Traditional Approach we mean that the teacher lectures and shows new topics while the students sit quietly in their seats listening, repeating, memorizing, doing assignments, taking tests, and interacting very little with each other or the teacher. (Wikipedia. org) One of the newer approaches, TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE, introduced by James Asher in 1977, is based on the observations of children learning their first language. This involves use of the five senses along with body movements in activities designed to activate right-brain function. Asher believed that use of the right-brain, which includes much listening and acting, enables the needed processing of language in the left-brain. TPR also emphasizes fun, along with a more relaxed, non-threatening atmosphere in the classroom. (Brown, 2007) Past Research on Topic Asher, J. (2010). A new note about tpr. Retrieved from http://en. wikipedia. org/wiki/Traditional_education Subjects Our subjects were three sixth grade girls from the International Welcome School (IWS). They were recommended highly by their teacher, LaShonda Terry, because of their similar educational background experience, English proficiency and academic levels. According to their composite scores on the MAC II English proficiency screening test, given a year ago, all three placed at the basic beginner level. Their Student Academic Survey (SAS) indicated that all the girls have previously received formal education. On their most recent screening assessment for English proficiency, the WIDA ACCESS Plac ement Test (W-APT), all three students scored at the mid to high range of level two. Other factors these three students have in common are: Country of origin is Iraq; Native language is Arabic; All are eleven years of age; All have been in the USA for less than two years; They share the same culture and religion; None of the three wear the traditional head covering worn by other Muslim females; All girls have siblings attending the IWS and/or the Newcomersââ¬â¢ Program at Roosevelt High School. 2. Method The topic of the lesson we used to compare the Traditional Approach to the TPR Approach is identifying and naming the fifty states of the United States. The United States was divided into states east of the Mississippi River and states west of the Mississippi River. There are twenty-six states to the east and twenty-four states to the west. Students were given a pre-assessment to determine how many of the fifty states could be properly placed on a blank map of the United States of America. The objective of the first lesson was that students would learn the states west of the Mississippi River and correctly place them on a blank map of the western portion of the USA. The first approach used was the Traditional Approach. This method included lecture, work sheets, paper pencil task, coloring activity, rote memorization, and use of a transparency on the overhead projector. Instruction was teacher-centered with whole group. Students were grouped in proximity, but not encouraged to work together in pairs or small groups. After using the Traditional Approach students were given a post assessment of the western states. ************************************************************************ The objective of the second lesson was that students would learn the states east of the Mississippi River and correctly place them on a blank map of the eastern portion of the USA. The students were instructed using the Total Physical Response (TPR) approach. This instructional method involves activities using physical or kinesthetic movement. A teacher-made floor map of the United States was used. Students gathered around the map. The classroom teacher and researcher modeled the activity first. A command was given by the researcher to the classroom teacher. ââ¬Å"Place your left hand on Alabama and your right leg on New York. â⬠Then a command was given by the classroom teacher to the researcher. ââ¬Å"Locate North Carolina. Now stand on the state that is immediately south of it. â⬠The students then began to take turns following the command given by the researcher. After a while the students were instructed to give the command to their classmates. This was repeated until each student had a chance to stand on the map. The game was then revised and became competitive. Two students stood on opposite sides of the map on the floor. A state is called out and the goal is to be the first to step on the state and stand on it. All students had a turn either stepping on the map or giving the command. Students eventually began using the entire map for this activity. After using the Total Physical Response (TPR) approach students were given a post-assessment of the eastern states. . Data Collection and Analysis Data was collected based on the number of states that were correctly placed on the map for each of the tests: pre-assessment, all fifty states; post-assessment 1, western states; post-assessment 2, eastern states. Studentsââ¬â¢ individual growth was determined using the following data: Student A: Pre-assessment, 3/50 correct. This is her baseli ne for her previous knowledge. After Traditional Approach (TA): Post-assessment 1, 15/24 correct on western states. After TPR: Post-assessment 2, 20/26 correct on eastern states. Student B: Pre-assessment, 5/50 correct ââ¬â baseline. After TA: Post-assessment 1, 11/24 correct on western states. After TPR: Post-assessment 2, 19/26 correct on eastern states. Student C: Pre-assessment, 3/50 correct ââ¬â baseline. After TA: Post-assessment 1, 13/24 correct on western states. After TPR: Post-assessment 2, 19/26 on eastern states. Using this data and comparing the post-assessments to the pre-assessments it is clear that each student showed growth in the knowledge of the names and locations of the states on a map of the USA. The following are the rates of growth by percentage correct: Student A: Baseline ââ¬â 6%; Western states, TA ââ¬â 63%; Comparison to baseline ââ¬â 57% growth factor; Eastern states, TPR ââ¬â 77%; Comparison to baseline ââ¬â 71% growth factor; TA vs TPR = gain of 14% using TPR. Student B: Baseline ââ¬â 10%; Western states, TA ââ¬â 46%; Comparison to baseline ââ¬â 36% growth factor; Eastern states, TPR ââ¬â 73%; Comparison to baseline ââ¬â 63% growth factor; TA vs TPR = gain of 27% using TPR. Student C: Baseline ââ¬â 6%; Western states, TA ââ¬â 54%; Comparison to baseline ââ¬â 48% growth factor; Eastern states, TPR ââ¬â 73%; Comparison to baseline ââ¬â 67% growth factor; TA vs TPR = gain of 19% using TPR. 4. Conclusions The results of this case study, while limited due to number of subjects, are based on similarities of subjects, data collected and analyzed, and implies that the Total Physical Response (TPR) approach produce d a higher growth increase in student learning and SLA as compared to the Traditional Approach (TA). In teaching the location and names of the fifty states of the USA, all four domains of language were explored. The predicted outcome expectation was to conclude that the use of Total Physical Response (TPR) approach does enhance learning and growth in SLA of the ESOL students at a higher rate than the Traditional Approach (TA). This expectation was met. A suggestion for improvement in a follow-up study might be to give a post-test of all fifty United States to compare with the results of the pre-test, since all fifty states were used as the baseline of previous knowledge. 5.

Financial Statment Analyasys Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Financial Statment Analyasys - Case Study Example was established in the year 1980 for retail sale of ââ¬Å"natural and organic foodsâ⬠(Edgar Online 1). It became the first grocer enterprise to receive national organic certification among grocers. The organizationââ¬â¢s history has been based on its mission of quality products towards high health standards and supports national movements for natural and organic foods. The organization floated its initial public offer in the year 1992 and currently operates more than 300 stores globally. Most of its stores have many years of existence in the market, with an average of ten years in their respective locations. Most of the stores are in the United States but subsidiaries exist in Canada and the United Kingdom. Retail in natural and organic foods is the organizationââ¬â¢s core operation. Focus on social responsibility such as environmental consciousness and the need to improve health through quality product, despite nature of competition, are the most interesting features of the organization. I preferred the company to others because of its prominence in the industry. 2. The purpose of the ââ¬Ëmanagement discussion and analysis sectionââ¬â¢ is to offer the managementââ¬â¢s position on its organizationââ¬â¢s financial features on a times series scale. ... The section also explains existence of competition, describes the entityââ¬â¢s products, and offers a summary of financial data over the past three accounting periods. Its clear and outlined organization is the most interesting thing and it communicates high prospects and stability of the entity. 3. Ernst & Young LLP is the organizationââ¬â¢s independent auditor. 4. The auditorââ¬â¢s opinion validates reported information by the management. The auditorââ¬â¢s opinion, in the form, approved the companyââ¬â¢s statement to be a fair representation of the companyââ¬â¢s financial position. The opinion is unqualified because it offers no reservation on reliability of the financial statements. 5. The company did not change its auditors. 6. The 10-K includes certification statement required by Sarbanes-Oxley and John Mackey signed the certification. The certification qualifies the reportââ¬â¢s compliance with sections 13(a) and 15(d) of the Security Exchange Act and that the report is a fair representation of the organizationââ¬â¢s financial position and operational outcomes and means the managementââ¬â¢s adoption of the financial statements. 7. Environment - Essay Example From this study, it was found out that biosciences are a sector that employs more than 425,316 people. This is so good because the income generated by these people can be useful in helping the economy in many ways. Apart from improving their purchasing power, they contribute taxes to the government. The other contribution of biodiversity is that it provides useful resources that are used in the economy. For example, plants act as chief sources of medicine used in the treatment of illnesses. A healthy population is pillar to economic growth. Through medical research, life can be made so better because solution can be sought for all the illnesses facing the people of Indiana. Ecological system and biodiversity help in promoting the well being of the Indianans in that it can help in sustainable economic growth and the conservation of available resources for the sake of future generations. This is necessary for economic growth and stability of the state. Once the ecosystem can be sustained and sparingly utilized, no resources can be depleted as they will always be available in the

A Tiger came to tea Essay Example for Free
A Tiger came to tea Essay Ive never seen so many children so excited about having a snack, It was like when animals are at a zoo, waiting to be fed, when they can see the zookeeper coming towards them. And the hustle and loud noises from the children was like the anticipation of crowds waiting for their favourite singers to come on stage. As soon as the children scoffed their snacks and gulped down their drink, we made our way to where the bouncy castle was outside. Every child was having a great time whether it was running around on the grass, bouncing on the castle or eating its picnic; it looked like the wonderful picture if a stranger was to come in to see what a playgroup did on the days of the summer. A perfect picture of summer with children having fun and enjoying themselves, the sun shining and everyone with huge smiles on their faces.à As I was sitting reading A Tiger came to tea to one little girl, Charlotte, all of a sudden a heard this all mighty cry, I jumped up so quickly that my heart all most stopped. The parents also looked stunned to see what an earth had gone on. I hurried to where the noise was coming from. Some children had even stopped bouncing on the castle, to see what had happened and to get them to stop bouncing on some thing they loved must have been something of a terrible shock. I came to the brightly coloured bouncy castle that had a tiger on the front the noise that usually was quite loud from the air at the back. This noise had somewhat been drowned out completely but the amount of commotion from worried parents and intrigued children. This enjoyable, blissful afternoon had turned into a worrying afternoon of turmoil.à My heart racing, I didnt know what to expect. I could feel my hands and forehead getting more and more sweaty, just like my first day starting. It wasnt a very nice feeling at all.à Still having this little girl sitting comfortably in my lap, I decided that I would go and look to see what the entire disturbance was and if I could do anything to help. I lifted Charlotte off my knees, placed the book down and slowly started to make my way over to the bouncy castle. The weather had turned from sunshine and clear skies, into black clouds and wind, making the atmosphere even more chilling. Approaching the giant inflatable I was feeling tremendously nervous and anxious.à Behind it was a little boy, Nathan, lying there crying and screaming like he had been punched hard in the stomach. The sight of his poor defenceless body made me just want to go and hug him. So that he wouldnt feel alone, that he could find comfort in my arms.à Had he stopped breathing? What if he would never be the same clever, ecstatic little boy that he was?à Blood was pouring from one of his legs and his arm was in an awkward position as if he had fallen on it funny. At that point I knew he had had a nasty plunge. I dint know what to think, I had never experienced anything like this before, especially on such a ting delicate boy. I was shaking, all that was going on inside my head were negative things and this point in time I couldnt think of positive.à Call an Ambulance, shouted Marion who looked very disturbed. Its Nathan, hes hurtà Nathans mum came running to the scene, her face had turned as white as snow, obviously from the shock.à Its on its way shouted one of the other leaders who had gone to call the ambulance. The ambulance turned up within a few minutes and Nathan was rushed off in it, the blue lights flashing, the siren going off, at this point all the children were just amazed at the ambulance. You could hear,à Look, lookambulance or Nee noor. Nee noor from the children.à I looked on in disbelief thinking how could that have happened within the half an hour of everyone enjoying themselves, then this terrible accident that Nathan had encountered. I just wished that he would be ok, that the broken arm and cut leg was the only thing that he had done.

Succot: The Jewish Holiday :: essays research papers
Succot: The Jewish Holiday After the Exodus from slavery in Egypt, the wandering Jews lived in tents or booths, called Succots. They were pitched wherever they happened to stop for the night. Today it is called the Succot the festival of booths remembering both the ancient agricultural booths and those of the Exodus. The harvest festival of thanksgiving, Succot, begins five days after Yom Kippur, and lasts for eight days. The first two days are the most holy, during which most Jews do not work. The families construct the booths and decorate it with branches, and leaves, fruits, and other designs. The roof is covered lightly, so the stars and the sky can still be seen. Most Jewish families eat all their meals in the Succot, while some even sleep in them. During the Succot festival, thanks are given for all growing plants by using four plants which are symbolic of all the rest. These four plants also represent the Jewish people. The Etrog, or the citrus fruit, stands for the people who are educated in the Torah and who do good deeds. The Lulav, or branch of the date palm, stands for the Jewish people who have knowledge but no good deeds. The Hadas,or myrtle, symbolizes the people who do good deeds, but are not educated. The Aravah, or willow, stands for the people who have no good deeds and no education. These plants are carried around the synagogue in a procession while prayers are recited for blessings on the land and fruit of Israel. In biblical times, the willow, the palm, and the Etrog were used in decorating the Succot. At the end of the Autum harvest, on the fifteenth day of Tishri (September-October) Succot is celebrated. It is believed that the festival originated with the ancient Canaanite celebration after the grape harvest at the end of the annual dry season. During this time rites were performed to incourage the rains. Boughs of fruit trees and evergreens were made into little booths which the early Jewish farmers lived during the festival. The last day of Succot is called Simhat Torah. It means the "rejoicing of the Torah." ASSESSMENT CRITERIA 1.2 There are many different examples of how different aspects of development can have an affect on one another, here are a few examples. If a child speaks a foreign language as their first and they and their family have just moved to this country to live, this may lead to them having a language barrier, the child may be very shy, find it very hard to communicate with others and isolate themselves and finding it difficult to make friends. All of these can affect the child emotionally, socially, possibly creating behavioural problems and lowering their self-esteem, all having an effect on their development. A child who finds it difficult to interact with other children due to reasons such as bullying, may find it difficult to express how they feel, and unable to tell anyone what is happening to them. This can affect the child, emotionally they may become very upset easily or even aggressive at times, they may be affected socially, thinking that all children are going to bully them and so isolating themselves from others, and losing confidence. These may all affect their ability to concentrate in the classroom and may in turn start affecting their levels. A child who may have a disability may find that not being able to participate with certain lessons for example PE, may leave them feeling that they are being isolated and that they are different to the others, this may affect their social, behavioural and emotional development. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA 2.1 Children and young people can be affected by different kinds of influences and these can have an effect on their development. Background We all come from different backgrounds whether it be ethnic, cultural, ourà environment or just circumstances. It may be that the child speaks a foreign language and is finding it difficult to communicate with others. A child may have different cultural needs to those children within the school environment. The child may come from a deprived home where there is little money and the child is not getting sufficient nutrients to sustain them during a school day. Causing lack of concentration. Also the childââ¬â¢s parents may be going through a divorce or separation, this can be very traumatic for a child. All of these can have an effect on the development of a child, and their ability to learn. Health Development can be affected if the child suffers with poor health or a physical disability. Low income and not being able to afford the right foods and nutrients will have an effect, physically and intellectually the child may be affected. A child with a physical disability may be emotionally and socially effected because of not being able to participate. Itââ¬â¢s important that they are supported and included as much as possible. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA 2.2 Recognising and responding to childrenââ¬â¢s and young peopleââ¬â¢s development is important, it ensures the child or young person receives the right help and support. As soon as it is recognised that a child has a problem then the right action can be taken to ensure the child gets any help or support with their learning and they can also be monitored. If a child was ignored or the problem was not detected then their development may suffer, causing them to fall behind, or not reach their goals. You may have started to notice that a particular child is quieter than normal and isnââ¬â¢t their normal happy self, this could be a cause of concern, you may feel that you are able to ask the child if there is anything bothering them. They may respond by telling you that their mum and dad are not getting along and dad has left the home. This may affect the emotional behaviour of the child as well as their social as they feel they canââ¬â¢t talk to any of their friends about it. You may feel itââ¬â¢s necessary to speak to their teacher, but itââ¬â¢s important that this is kept as confidential. It would then be necessary to monitor the childââ¬â¢s development and behaviour. Being able to recognise and see a concern with a child can make all the difference to their development in the future. Being able to listen, understand and help is an important role to play as a TA.
